Today, for our first trip, we, Wine Trotters, decided to begin our journey in the heart of the France’s south west, in the Malbec appellation. This name forgotten in recent years and little known by all, reveals in reality some hidden beautiful treasures.

It is for this reason, that we bring you with us in order to discover some secret of this place through a famous wine with an interesting story.

The legend of the deamon

The Cadurcian city needed a bridge worthy of it name. It is said that, desperate by the slowness of the work, the contractor decided to pass a pact with a little daemon in exchange of his soul.

At the end of the works, the master tried to deceive the little daemon and was, then, damned for his treachery. Thus, the top of the central tower of the Valentré bridge collapsed and he was never able to finish his work.

A half-century later, a stone was erected with the effigy of the little daemon in memory of this story. Today our « devil like » oenologist, Hervé Froment, makes us discover his last mischief through this Malbec, new little daemon in the cadurcien’s country.
